Anybody happen to know what size plastic rivets to use on the engine cover to separate it into two pieces?

Dropped my engine cover off to get painted, and agreed that they could drill out the rivets to make the paint job easier. Trying to get some new rivets so I can have them when I get my engine cover back, but I don't know what size to get. Doubting I'll be back to pick some up at the store since they are plastic rivets, not sure that will be an easy find at home depot, but unsure.

Ask the paint shop what size bit they used to drill them out.
That will be your hole size.

Amazon has boatloads.

I drilled mine to separate parts, they were not really Rivets, more of a solid mass underneath. I drilled them out and used aluminum rivets after painting.

Lol wow I'm dumb, should've realized that I should use whatever rivet size the drill bit is.

And RIBS Thanks for the info. I bought a pack of various aluminum rivet sizes at the store. Planning to use them once I get my engine cover back from the shop, told them I wasn't in any rush to get it painted.

Hoping that my shiny rivets don't look too ridiculous when I put them in. Might just spray paint them myself before putting them in LOL. Getting the engine cover painted a black & white combo. I'll try to remember to post some pictures here when its all finished.

I used stainless button socket cap screws to bolt mine back together.

Finally an update with pictures. Ended up using screws to bolt it back together.

I used stainless 8-32 allen bolts with washers and aviation locknuts on the back side (not nylock) it looks custom to me.
