European Maps for NAV

I just received my 2016 GT Prem Track Pack (US Spec), maybe one of the first in the EU , anyway I have the navigation option, but doesn't work here because well.. they come with US maps. Can I just bring it to a Ford dealer to upload the EU maps, would I be charged, would it work? Nearest dealer is 30ish minutes away and they speak Italian, so I'm wondering if anyone here has had to do the same thing.

The maps are on the sd card and I imagine tne electronics are the same so you probably need to purchase the euro sd maps from a dealer. I don't know if they are coded to a specific vehicle ins some way.

Does the radio work ok as I know the US uses different AM frequencies to Europe? Is the dab radio compatible?

But you can try on ebay, there are many of these sd cards and at a good price (like THIS)

You might wanna wait a few weeks, I heard that there is a new version out that will be available in January.

Edit: is F5 the new version of F4? Are we sure?

I asked the guys at car-maps.com and they confirmed F5 is the new version of F4 and will work in our cars (I asked for EU carsw.. don't know if it's the same for US model).

So the F5 maps will be available in our dealers soon?
Does someone of you know if those changes are big?
To be honest, F4 maps are not so "outstanding"

To be honest, I won't go to the dealer if I can do without him. Sure the ebay version is way cheaper
Ad of course all are original since these sd cards have a drm anticopy protection.

I'll have to look into that! I'd prefer to not burn through data using Google Maps all the time, especially when crossing into another country (like 15 Euro for 500MB of data).

As far as the radio functionality, it seems to work fine with AM/FM here in Italy, no SiriusXM because their satellites only point at the states, and the bluetooth is great--connects within a second or two which amazed me.

I'll be driving to Germany/Amsterdam/Belgium/Austria/Tuscany area of Italy during the next two weeks so if you guys see a black on black 2016 GT, wave!

I just bought an F5 sd card from ebay for 55 GBP shipping included (about 77 eur)
