the 911 R will be out, manual only, gt3 engine, gt3 suspension

pretty much a manual gt3 with less aero

will be interesting to to see the laptimes.

Won't even be a contest. What a silly comparison.

Hard comparison to make. On one hand the Porsche will cost way more, but it will also be a better car. If I were made of money I would probably buy both, but with the Porsche being more exciting to me due to being a better size for a sporty car. Since I'm not made of money I'm going to want to talk about how much of a relative bargain the GT350 is.

I don't know. Even if the GT350 doesn't receive any improvements, I think it does better than the price gap suggests.

Have to wait and see. But wouldn't be surprised to see a very close contest.

Agreed, I think it would be a lot closer than people would imagine.

It will be interesting to see if the 911 R is faster then the 981 Gt4. I'm guessing very similar track times with the Gt4 the bargain $.

The GT 350R slightly faster then the Gt4. Gt4 faster then a track pack GT 350???

Would love to have the 911. It's a pipe dream limited production that will be all bought up before it even hits the streets. 500 hp and only 3200lbs...Insert drool icon.

Saw someone wreck a Cayman GT4 with paper plates last weekend at Autoclub Speedway...

Ouch heartbreaker! Hopefully they were covered with a track insurance policy.
I'd take a DD/track Porsche over having one of the next legal garage queens in my neighborhood. I have yet to track Fontana but want to hit the test and tune days they run.

And if you find one, expect six-figure markups

Just because it has a manual, when Porsche should still offer the manual in a GT3 to begin with. Don't get me wrong, if I had Justin Bieber money I would get one...

For me the 911R is the most desirable version, but I agree that asking that kind of money for one is crazy. I think for a $100,000 discount I'd "settle" for the PDK in a regular GT3. And for a further $60,000 discount I'd settle for a GT350.

I would take a CarreraS over a GT350..I just can't believe how expensive they have gotten. I got a 2007 911S new pretty decently loaded for just at $88k with discount. Now they start at $104,000.
