This has come up many times over the last couple years. It seems the best answer in the long run is to swap taillights with someone that wants the 50 yr AP chrome trim lights. There are people that want them and will pay for them.

Ok, I guess that would work, risky though since rhese taillights are not cheap

I found these but they say they dont fit 50th anniversary models. Why cant they make this for specifically the 50th an. models? Lol

i had a few people wanting to trade me and come to find out my trim was chipped so that was a no go ! i tinted mine and there actually not bad at all now

I did the same with mine along with the rear deflectors and reverse light.

It's doable. I did this a while back with my set- but I agree with everyone if you just want black, swap them out for a non 50th set. Much easier.
