Had a complimentary full synth oil change laying around so I brought it to the dealership yesterday, they've always treated me well so I'm comfortable doing so.

What's the likelihood a dealership would flash the ECU? The car just feels...different, I don't know how to articulate it really, but the shifts feel different. 20k in, I've had plenty of changes and never felt a change after obviously.

Looked on the work summary and don't see anything of the sort.

Is there a way to determine what version I'm running, and compare it against what others might have?

Regardless, definitely content as the change is a forward trending one.

Thanks all.

Well, That is really the only way I know of to tell. If you had a custom tune before and they flashed over it, then it would be a lot easier.

My car was in the dealership body shop and all the sudden went into limp mode. They called me in a panic, saying there was something wrong with the car.

I rushed over there, saw the car dead in the parking lot. Called my tuner in a panic and he told me to reflash to stock and back with the updated tune. Since I had a JLT the car wouldn't run stock. This fixed the issue completely.

When I questioned the dealership staff, they swore up and down that they never reflashed the car, but I damn well knew they did.

Now any time I go to the dealership I make a big deal about NOT flashing the car, and even put blue tape over the port.

^^^ Yep, always bring up the ECU reflashing if you bring your car in for service. If your car is running fine, make sure the service manager knows you don't want anyone touching the ECU with the latest "update".

It's your "heightend sense of awareness". Customers get that after every service!

If I was tuned, I'd certainly tell them not to touch it, but I'm still stock.

I was thinking it was some sort of placebo effect, but who knows.

Ya know, I think I know what it is and it's a little embarrassing.

I live in NY, we get snow and it gets cold and I have balding pzero A/S...put 4 sandbags in the trunk...that's an extra 200lb to get me some more grip. After some child in a CLA45 giving me a run the other night I said f it, that's GOTTA be the reason my car isn't the fastest on the road. After I got home I took 'em out, service the next morning - that's when I noticed the difference. It's the weight. God dammit.

I actually put one of these on mine when it goes to the dealership. I use it on everything that I have tuned. Not just the mustang. When we take our Dodge to the dealership I get asked the same thing, by the same guy everytime. When did Steeda start tuning Durangos?

you could get a GPS that plugs into ODB2. Activate it for when the car goes into shop. Device is supposed to send an email if its disconnected and reconnected.

Or use your tuner to pull the tune and do a file compare.

What if you have the Ngauge? Just ordered mine and guessing to reflash it they would have to unplug the Ngauge first... Asking because I was going to get the Steeda cover but realized it wouldn't do any good if my ngauge is always plugged up to it... Guessing some blue tape and DO NOT TOUCH would work lol
