It's that time of year when you should check your engine compartment for any new additions or rodent housing developments...

Went to refill my washer fluid and saw the insulation around my fuel injector lines was half eaten away!

Checked the wiring as best I could and didn't see anything else that got nibbled...hope that's the extent of the damage. Good thing it's covered under my Insurance policy. $300 deductible will suck though... :frusty:

This stuff happens more than you think. Honda once issued a TSB warning about rodent damage in engine bays.

Mazda had issues with spiders and fuel lines. My brothers car was one of the ones that caught fire lol.

In Germany the mink will gnaw on the starter cables. They are infamous
I would like to hit him with those cranking amps to see if he'll come back.

Had rats chew the knock sensor wires on my 350z. Power sucked until I had that repaired. Also had a rat make a nest in my GTI engine bay. He tore apart the fire/noise shield on the hood and used it for bedding. Hate those bastards.

Noticed a stash of nuts under the hood of my pickup last month.
2 mouse traps with peanut butter caught two the first night!

No more problem now.

Had some make a nest in the airbox of my F150EB once. Daily driver so nothing about letting it sit. Huge pile of insulation they got from somewhere else and brought in. Not a thing on the truck was touched... No idea how long it was there until I checked the air filter during routine maintenance.
