My best 60' was 1.699 on MT ET Street SS 285/40R18 with the stock stall (normally in the 1.72-1.75 range). Foot brake at 1500 and slam the gaz before leaving the brake.
He never gonna be close to those 60ft of yours!
You have long tube headers and stock intake.
He have stock headers and also have a gt350 IM, you know the effect of the gt350 IM on a automatic with a stock converter on the 60ft!!

My tuner have a 2016 GT A6 with the same bolt on (except he as BBK header) and he run the same 60' than me

3.15's or 3.55's? What is the size and height of the 555r's you were using?

DA, gear, and tire height will play a role in your 60's with the stock converter.

Could this be the result of the GT350 IM ? Torque and horsepower loss below 4500? In the vid the car just looks sluggish off the line.

stock stall with a KB. 3.15 rear gear and ive cut a 1.71 and a 1.68. fixing some of the gremlins in the tune im betting its less than that.

was on dark stars with hoosier 28x10 slicks on a very well prepped NH and RA track.

I agree, seems totally sluggish. Thats why i posted this topic. I bought this car as is, so have no before/after IM to compare...

Maybe i need to be researching gt350 bottom end loss more

Stock Converter is way too tight for basic bolt on car. Its very obvious once you go to the track. The car struggles to 60ft.

My car with a JLT and Over the shelf SCT tune struggled to do anything better than 2.0 60ft times.

Car either bogged at idle or if you tried to really footbrake it just starts doing a burnout lol.

I have since put a 5C in the car with a CJ and other supporting mods. Hopping to see 1.6 or better 60ft times.

So your saying your thinking about trying to spin more off the line??.....That's the first time I've ever heard someone say that. In my 30 years of racing. Well at least your trying something different.

here is an interesting quote:

"When you dump the clutch with a manual transmission, a dead-hook will shake the tires or bog down the motor. A slight amount of controlled spin is preferable, where the right amount of wheel speed and traction allows the car to accelerate rapidly while going through the gear changes."

admittedly the article goes on to say that for an auto dead hook is usually the best, point is that i wasnt that out of line to think of trying to induce some controlled wheelspin to reduce bogging

link to the original article: http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/0810chp-mickey-thompson-drag-tires-tips/

still interested to hear your thoughts after seeing the video

My fastest NA times with a stick car always required some wheelspin. You are not crazy. I would rather slightly spin than dead hook a 11 second NA car. I know several people that spin NA cars a little. At the end of rhe day your stock converter is killing you.

I think off the line you are not spinning but shortly aft you are.

http://anilyzer.com/?page_id=7&type=youtube&vId=qx4WojDkto8#playbackRate=1&seekTo=0

watch it in slow mo in 1080p around frame 1000 you definitely start spinning. Too bad it wasn't a high speed camera closer up. you can hear it bog pretty hard when it shifts to second around frame 1050.

link may not work in chrome browser gotta use IE or "EDGE" in windows 10.

I agree with above post. And I also think airing down those tires to 15 will help immensely. what do you have to lose by trying it? Everyone thinks they are hooking up just fine. My point is don't keep trying the same old thing expecting different results. I don't know how many guys have cut off half a second on their times. Following some simple advice at Atco. It just seams like everyone shows up with 20-25 pounds in their new drag radials for some reason. I run 14 psi on really cold nights and 16 in the summer. Works like a charm.
