You could be the guy that tries the aFe LT headers... I cannot find ANYONE who went with those. Their power increase names are without a tune, oddly. But they look different than others. So... you try them, let us know. :)
I already have the Pypes system, and acquired it at a price that I couldn't refuse. lol

The only way I would use anything aFe is if they paid me to try the parts out. I am not paying to try and "re-invent any wheels".

Thus far I am very happy with my set-up. I will be ditching it in favor of a CAI eventually, though.

bwahahaha. Yes I do. And I am a creature of habit, and use what works. So I actually have the same two sets of wheels for each car. lol!

I was just wondering if it was worth it to buy that and a drop in filter or save for a cold air intake. Seems like it works good, has anyone seen any increase of mpg with this induction hose and drop in filter? Wasn't sure how much power it was worth or if it was more of a throttle response thing, but to run in the 11's with that and a tune is great

Let me save you some time: it is worth no power increase. it is worth no mpg increase.
Maybe some throttle response, but that's about it.

The contribution of the inlet hose to BMR's track times was I'd say .0000000000000000000000000001% vs the Tune and tires being 99.999999999%

I agree with you for the most part.

However, there is also the factor of the K&N+Mishi tube supporting the gains that the tires, tune and good air provided.

The tires though, actually hurt the MPH. In my experience, slicks drop MPH by a small margin. Yes they helped the ET, but they also hurt the MPH.

If I was on street tires or my 20" drag radials, I suspect my mph would have been in the 118-119 range.

I don't know if I gained HP or not. But after adding the Mishimoto intake hose and the aFe filter panel I immediately noticed the exhaust note was much sharper and distinct. I have the Kooks 3" H pipe catback. Also, I drive regularly from St Petersburg to Houston and my mileage since installation has gone up @ 1-2 mpg on the highway. I did that trip three times last year the last time with the Mishimoto so I don't think the improvement was simply the engine breaking in or different gas. The other plus for me is that it looks good.

Neat stuff!

Now I'm seriously considering purchasing the hose instead of waiting for the full intake...

My bad, newer car. I can't see $225 for that hose when their whole CAI is $289. I'd go with the Airraid (seen it for $138) and whichever filter floats your boat. I too have been considering trying PBD's tune.

The hose was $150 on american muscle website if i remember right. I m not sure if they still have it for that price. Also Edelbrock supercharger uses drop in filter, similar hose, and stock airbox. Go figure!
