I'm curious to see how you like the rs4 in that size. Looking to get some tires next week and that's top of my list. Do you need spacers to run the 285/35/18? I'm still stock PP suspension.
I'll be unable to test the tire at the track until end of July/early August. WIll be tied up with things until then. I believe you will need a small spacer to run a 285/35/18 squared. But I'll confirm.

285/40/18 Continental DW required spacers up front with 18x10 EC-7.
With the EC-7, I would imagine you would need at least a 1/4" spacer up front to run a 285 street tire. I believe you need a 1/2" spacer to run a 305/30/18 NT01 up front on the 18x10 EC7.

Thanks for the info guys. Apex EC-7 18x10 wheels came today and I pulled the trigger on the 285/35 RS4s. Ordered 15mm spacers and waiting for them to arrive. For kicks bolted the wheels and tires up. REALLY close, about 3mm of clearance between strut and tire without spacers on totally stock suspension.

Tanks for sharing. We look forward to seeing the final results! It looks like you can get away with as little as 5mm spacers up front :D

We are excited to have the 18x10” ET43 EC-7 wheels for Mustang BACK IN STOCK! A fellow enthusiast Kevin shared some photos of his White S197 Mustang 5.0 with his newly mounted EC-7’s. Kevin replaced his 20” wheels for this lightweight track setup, and next on the list is to raise the ride height just a touch.

 • APEX Wheels: 18x10” ET43 EC-7 in Anthracite (square)
 • Tires: 285/35/18 Toyo T1 Sport Tires
 • Suspension: ST XTA Coilovers, Cortex Watts Link & Whiteline Front Sway/Lower Control Arms
 • Brakes: The front and rears are off a 13/14 GT500. 15" rotor in the front with the 6P Brembo brakes. Rears are 13.8" rotors with a CNC caliper relocation bracket.

Will APEX have any 19" wheels for regular S550's? I like to see a square 19x10 fitment for my Ecoboost...

Certainly! Our 19" lineup will have both staggered and square fitment options for the S550 Mustang. The APEX EC-7 19x10" ET40 will be a very effective square fitment for enthusiasts looking to maximize performance with the ability to rotate while significantly reducing rotational mass.

Here is a photo of this exact fitment (also pictured on page 1) with 275/35-19 RE-71 R tires. Many enthusiast will choose to run 285/35-19's for a little beefier fitment.

As spiller mentioned above, we are currently running a Group Buy on these new 19" EC-7 Mustang wheels, and you can find more information on the deal as well as fitment information here. Keep in mind there is just 14 hours left on the clock, so you will want to get your pledge in today to be eligible for the Group Buy discount.

Got the EC-7 18x10, 285/35/18 RS4 setup figured out on my 2016 GT PP with completely stock suspension. 5mm spacer and longer studs looks like it will work just fine for track duty. Ill get some better pics this weekend.

Keen to see some more pics when you get a chance. I've just ordered the same sizes but going to try a 295/35. How much clearance is there with the 5mm spacer when running the 285/35?

Without spacer the tires were very close to the strut. The little tire hairs are touching. It's around 3mm of clearance. This is all on a 2016 GT PP with completely stock suspension.

With 5mm spacers. Everything clears just fine.

With the 5mm spacer I couldn't get enough thread engagement on the stock lug nuts (only around 5 turns or so) So I had to go with longer studs too. 3mm was the largest spacer that I could go and still get bout 7.5 turns with the stock lug nuts.

Let me know how the 295s fit.
