Yep 5w 30 is what the dealers will be using. I've still got some more 5w20 as i bought it at a good price, once I run out I'll get 5w30. I'm not sure, the difference between the two is pretty negligible

Quick look around seems to show 5W-30 that also meets the correct specs isn't too common in retail packs. Looks like I'll be buying 20l drums again.

I recently watched a video from CJPP - They recommended 5W20 for the Ecoboost and 5W30 for the V6 and GT.

Edit: the video is on page 2 :)

Do we know what brand oil is already in the Mustang, is it Motorcraft synthetic blend?

I think my left-over 5W20 will get mixed with the next purchase of 5W30 :)

Careful, you need to look at more than the viscosity if you want oil that meets the specs Ford state if the WSS-M2C913-D or ACEA A5/B5 requirement is correct. Some of those don't.

I think we should have a list of what is compatible or not and what meet specs

That indeed is going to be a real asset. Maybe it's time to start a sticky thread and add 'confirmed' oils by dealerships, Ford, independent mechanics and such....
