Any tips on scrubbing low profile tires without damaging the wheel?

I've heard people use tape or playing cards.

Seems completely unnecessary to me. Just watch what you're scrubbing. TUF SHINE tire bush is great and it's only $5

You using a wire brush or something? A regular bristle brush shouldn't damage the wheel finish.

Just get a tire brush and good wheel cleaner. Shouldn't be damaging wheels.

Just avoid brushing on the wheel. Buy a smaller brush I guess. Or use a toothbrush if you have $10k wheels.
