I'd be outside covering my car with cardboard boxes and finding a way to keep them there. I did that to my truck, used a done of blue tape to hold them there. Single layer of firm/hard cardboard stopped all dents - the car next to me got hammered.

I'm not sure if it'll help you out now, but this is why I keep my comprehensive deductible at $100 on all my vehicles. If someone vandalizes it, it's $100. If you get hail or other weather damage, it's $100. If you hit a deer or other animal, it's $100. Your insurance company also can't raise your rates for a comprehensive claim.

Good luck, and may the force be with you. (And call your insurance company to change your comprehensive deductible - shouldn't cost you more than like $25 a year for the lower deductible.)

Luckily, I have a parking garage here at work. Employees are not supposed to park in it. But, I do anyway. I'll take my chances on getting in trouble for it

We have two garages at works and when it gets dicey I put my car in there.

Get a car cover, duct tape plastic bags to your car, park under a tree?

I got caught in a hail storm in mine while helping a buddy move about a month ago. No warning at all. When I heard and saw it coming down in marble-sized pieces for about 5 minutes, I was sure my car was gonna look like a golf ball when we went back outside...

Not a mark on it anywhere! Hail doesn't always equal hail damage.

Good Luck!

This. Cut up some office cardboard boxes and cover up hood, roof and trunk.

I only drive the pony once a week to work, but the prettiest days. It doesn't even see rain if I can help it. It is always garaged at home too. Don't need the stress. I'm in DFW and keep a close eye on the weather.

I was in Arkansas once years ago and got caught in a hail storm. It started out as pea sized so I took refuge under a dealership awning. Not long after that, it turned to golf ball size and I watched an entire lot of new cars get hammered. They all looked like someone had taken a ballpeen hammer to them.

Spring of 2015 I was in DFW for work and went through a couple nasty storms. No hail though but man I have never seen storms that bad other than hurricanes

Overall violence didnt seem as bad as those DFW ones for the SA ones last year but the amount of hail that was dropped was nuts. Thankfully my car goes in the garage every night. Doesnt do me much good during working hours but I guess I've lucked out so far. If I knew 100% certain a big hail storm was coming (i dont mean forecast) i'd probably leave.

not so much from fear of the damage but from lessons learned last year from coworkers. It took months for people's cars to get fixed last year. A manager went to get a rental car and they were out. not bc they didnt have any on hand, they were just all damaged!

I'm sure safelite etc made a killing though
I was in Belize the week those storms blew through. Seeing the flooding aftermath from the plane as we were landing was insane.

She made it through ok. The really nasty part took off north of us but the office got stuck by lightning and we lost power and got sent home. So I ended up having to work from home after all.
