You're overthinking it. You can get an exact frequency from an engine RPM.
Is not the same. Not all V8s sound the same and also different exhaust will provide different frequency notes. People have different hearing needs or sound perception, etc.. With the tool you can pinpoint the freq that you want to filer or tame.

It is the same from a V8 standpoint... however Different cars/exhaust designs either accentuate, or cover up the nasty drone frequencies. The raw frequencies at a given rpm are identical though.

Yes it is. Despite what it sounds like to our ear, there are explosions happening at 100-200 times a second (in the cruising speed range) that create discrete sounds. The firing frequency that these occur at is what you tune the Helmholtz/Quarter wave resonator to. Different exhausts have different tones because they use various forms of wave cancellation/interference or absorption to modify what frequencies are audible and at what amplitudes. Please research Helmholtz resonator.

Is 25" the total length from end to end, including the "U" bend? Or is the longest leg on one side supposed to be 25"?

Total length including the bend on the centerline of the pipe. That summit part I linked is 33" long total, so 8" off the long side. The bend is another 12" on top of the straight lengths.

Another thing I have seen was to have the Jpipe as close to the headers as possible. The reason being is to cancel the wave as far up stream as possible. These people also sell Jpipes, however I think a shop could build them for way cheaper.

Anywhere in the system will have the same affect. That video lost me when at the end he says the longer the better.... do yourself a favor and ignore that video all together.
