Not hating or anything, but what's the difference between this and a $30 sheet of heat insulation and a pair of scissors?

Mmm....that material is rated to +180 degrees F its more of a domestic DIY double bubble material. Why would you think this is suitable or even similar to the OEM heat shield material? your like +1000 degrees off.

option to buy direct from Australia could save US buyers 1/2 the cost of buying through American Muscle, hence the reason for the post.

I agree that the material could be bought in sheet form and custom fitted, but seriously guys you need to be comparing apples with apples. especially when you get into extreme temperature situations.

hopefully people do their research before undertaking any of these types of applications.

I don't know about your car, but the cowl gets very hot on mine. I used lava header wrap on the x pipe when I installed it to cut down on heat and have ceramic long tubes. I didmt get a chance to wrap the midpipe and cats hem I had it installed, but I wish I had.

That was just one example...if you want to get technical though:

DEI makes 3 products rated for 1200, 1750 and 2000 degrees respectively and can be bought for around $100 for the same exact area coverage.

your closer, the fabric material is very good wrap, the adhesive backed material also good, but I find it peels away after time. similar products, still not quite the same but great for certain applications.

Out of curiousity is this more for hotter climate guys, i havent noticed any heat seeping into my cabin. My 2007 gt would have some heat near the shifter and hotter during the summer but this car def feels cooler overall.

out of that kit I would say the center drive shaft bearing protector is the one I am more interested in. if looking at long tail headers, relocated high flow cats and X Pipe I would suggest this kit is desirable
