I was digging the S 550 logo you had printed on the side (like the Boss 302) until you replaced it!

They can be had from Big Worm Graphix in any font you want... In the end, I had to agree with my vinyl guy that the lettering in the graphic and the 5.0 emblem was a little bit too much for that small area of the vehicle. I love the new custom graphic and have sold a replica for $200 to a guy :D

ALSO A BUILD UPDATE

So the PP2 install is super simple! I had the help and expertise of @2morrow. Also, I want to thank the two forum member came up with the engine cover solution @TorkN8R & @StrongFord . The most difficult part of the install was removing the sound tube due to the awkward location of the sound tube bolt. The tune was simple and straight forward after a little conjecture. When the car fired you could immediately tell it was a different animal. Sure the CAI makes a difference, but the throttle body and the tune played an equal if not larger role. The sound increase was audible, and now at cold start, it sounds like its spitting ball bearings at you. Very aggressive and cool!

The only problem is if you have a fancy painted engine cover it wont fit :headbonk:, and the instructions say to cut it which was out of the question. So...you need a couple simple parts:

You need this angled piece that connects into the CAI and allows room for the engine cover. You also need a male to male connector to lengthen one of the emissions tubes and two longer pieces of tubing to be cut to size (shown below):

Once you have connected these two pieces and trimmed the tubing to size your purty engine cover will fit back on:

Glad you didn't have to ruin that nice cover. Your engine bay looks great!
Thank you StrongFord for your ingenuity! FP really should make these $5 pieces part of the kit!

NEW PAINT JOB!

Ruby suffered some serious rock chips during an ill conceived cruise that took us down a long stretch of gravel road. She is being repainted to a show quality level and having a ceramic clear applied over the tinted clear. The next pics you see will be of the final product!

Wow Brandon! what a project! I have often wondered if I will have to do this at some time in the future. The factory paint seems thin and rock chips are so easy to get. I had Xpel put on the entire front fascia and then everything coated with Modesta Ceramic. The other day I noticed a significant rock chip right at the front of the roof where it meets the windshield....going to get some dr. color chip to take care of that...

I never had rock chip issues with my S-197, but it seems the consensus is that the S-550's have much thinner paint and clear. I really can't wait to get her back and see what she looks like! Good luck with your touch up!
