We got our GT350 on track with SVT Cobra club last weekend at beautiful Virginia International Raceway. While we were there we decided to do a real world test on oil collection on a typical track day.

5 sessions and roughly 165 Miles.

See video below for results.

Impressive. Equally impressive is the fact that your tech package car completed 5 sessions w/o entering limp mode. At least from that angle it appears to have the small tech spoiler.

We logged the temp with our SCT X4, trans got as high as 320 on track.

The car has never seen limp mode in 4+ Track days.

Think the oil would have been near boiling at that point

Seems very high, doubtful that it is the actual temperatures. Great that at least 1 tech owner isn't having issues though

Limp mode was probably shut off in the tune. If memory serves me correctly, limp mode kicks in at 280.

Any oïl on the driver's side (I cant see from picture if car is equipped with DS can)?. I also found oïl in PS tank but DS was bone dry after 500 miles of driving (no track).

Dry, just a film of oil. Pretty typical it seems, on some of the Coyote 5.0 car's we've seen oil in the driver setups...but it's pretty rare.

Is the oil in the separator pretty clean. Can you just dump that back in the engine?

I don't think it would be ok. From my understanding on how oil catch cans work, that's mostly oil but it has a mixture of gas too...since the cylinders "leak" small ammounts of air/gas mixture together with oil, all in vapor form.

+1, just add some fresh oil. Never reuse oil except in an emergency (I don't know what that would be)

I get about that amount every 2 weeks from street driving.. I've only got the JLT passenger side can.

I just emptied both catch cans... well technically since driver's side was bone dry after 2 track days. So if you are hesitating on getting only passenger vs both sides, passenger side only is pretty much all that is necessary.

I've been to Tremblant twice and going to Icar beginning of August. Maybe the results will be different since they go in opposite directions!
