Sync 3 and maps

Can someone please let me in on a secret cause i cannot find the damn answer? How do i stop carplay from using the iphone maps when the phone is plugged in? Phone was nearly dead during our trip last sunday and wanted to charge it using the usb socket. As soon as i plugged in the phone, sync3 switched my maps to iphone. As i had not coverage where we were, i lost all map navigation.

This does not happen on my truck's radio (pioneer) with apple carplay. I can select which map app i want to use when i got my phone plugged in.

It's shit.

Options. CarPlay. Disable. Fixed!

I hate the way when you select maps it shows half the bleeding country rather than a zoomed in map. Spotify is ok, if you like font size 72 on the screen but otherwise it's disabled on my car and will stay that way!
