Has anyone in Aus gone with a square set-up? Given our limited options for the phat stuff anyway?

The benefit or running 275 front and rear sounds attractive. The car understeers anyway, so arguable wider front tyres would be warranted? and you could have same rims on the front and back - deep dish on both?

Plus you will have the benefit of being able to rotate your tyres.

Is this thinking flawed?
Kev 2-STANG has 20 x 10 front and rear, looks great

I've got 19x10 and 19x11 Project 6GR wheels waiting to be fitted. They told me 285 front and 325 rear would fit flush. What do you reckon?

I'll be using 275 front and 295 or 305 rear with those.

Bit too wide on the back, I'd go 305 max with those. I'll be going 315 with a 20x11 +55, which will have the same amount of poke

I reckon define flush...
You can use negative camber to make anything work.
Pictured is a 345 rear on 6GR wheel. Deduct 10mm obviously. Poke or not?

That look is acceptable. I just don't want a noticeable protrusion of the tyres from the chassis.

I have Project-6GR wheels. 20x10 +35 front and 20x11 +50 rear with 275/35 front tyres and 295/35 rear tyres.

Vogtland 35mm front and 25mm rear from Fred

Word of caution - the Americans can be a little optimistic with widths.

Do you have a straight shot from the back, showing the top of the tyre and guard?

Like that second shot, but closer and more parallel to the car

What kind of camber are you running to make those wheels work?

Totally agree Andrew they are way too optimistic when it comes to tyre sizes.

Speaking with the guys at Project 6GR I explained that we were not allowed tyre poke as it was illegal here. They said its ok over there as its never enforced. Much the same as street rods there can run fenderless and here you must have fenders over your tyre.

So that is why you often get the wrong advice from the USA.

295/35/20 Contis are going onto 20x11 rear Project wheels this weekend.

Cheers Fred

But if you go to their thread on here, they've posted pics of 285 and 325 setups and they don't look like they protrude to me.

Trust me mate, I spent an eternity analysing those pics and a million others of cars running 11" +50 offsets. About half the cars in that thread have distinct poke. The other half have either opted for tyres that "fit narrow" or are running ridiculous amounts of negative camber to get the damn things back inside the guards.
It's your money, your car, you can do as you please, of course

I'm looking forward to your feedback on the install this weekend Fred Vogtland Mustang

I think I'll do the 275/35 and 295/35 set up in 20's.

I've yet to order wheels or tyres either
