One of the benefits of being an old fart:doh::D

Now what about the secret mod:shrug::confused::lol:

I'll say now that although I declared it, it didn't add anything to the premium::popcorn::headbang:

So no performance increase, minimal value and less attractive to car thieves...

You've fitted a 2.3 and sprayed the car red...??? :bolt:

£818 with Admiral - no points but one accident last year (50/50, reversed into each other in a car park). I think that's probably about right for my location, age and for this type of car?

Apparently installing a tracker increases the insurance premium?!!

Sometimes, depending on your age, adding a named driver who is older (mum or dad) with clean licence for years really brings the cost down, admittedly its also depends on your age (saved £800 on my daughters by adding my wife and me as named drivers over not having us on her insurance).

Hi enoch,
Just called my insurers about my headers and they won't cover them. So from tomorrow I'm without insurance and really need to sort it tonight. Any chance I could have the name of your insurers please?

Direct line..:)

Just be aware, they didn't have a category for headers, or CAI.... so I said the headers were part of the exhaust system, and that the CAI was part of the need for a remap..... I declared a 20% increase in power, and asked that they clarified the mods with their underwriter....

I got the all clear and they were happy to list the mods as part of the remap...

Hi there

Directline wanted £319 last year, modifications declared increased it to £400.

Renewal they want like £520 and are being funny about the remap!

Adrian Flux quoted £490 full cover, including 40k value with all modifications covered and remap along with 60 day European cover.

A-Plan quoted £410.00 again full cover, all mods, 40k value including modifications, legal cover, European cover etc. etc. £350 excess and £50 windscreen excess. 6yr NCB, 7000 miles annual, full comprehensive.

So I went with A-Plan, there might be cheaper out there but they are a good and well known company. :)

P.S. £600 with supercharger declared with upto 700BHP! :D :D :D :D :D
Just renewed with A-Plan, £399 with legal cover. Flux came in at £394, Direct Line £366.

Seems high given I'm bog stock (currently) and max no claims, clean licence, good area, garaged, MOCGB discuont, old fart etc.?

Just paid mine £490

Euro cover, 15 years NCD, all mods listed me and Wife on policy.

Not great but way less than Direct Line and my current insurer Admiral.

Excess and Euro cover way better.

A - Plan

Seems some people are getting crazy low prices :frusty:

don't know why i didn't see this thread earlier as my insurance is due for renewal on 29th :)
Surprised DL is working out cheaper for anyone they basically refused to insure me when I rang them. old fart, 20 years+ no claims garaged etc etc and only put 5000 a year down for mileage + with 6 other cars to use it usually makes insurance cheap.

Best I've got so far is from More Than at 490 quid. Going to give a-plan a try see what they can do.
