I've been reading this thread http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=69847 and I'm thinking of switching my order to a 2018. I'm due for delivery some time in April or May of 2017.
My local dealer has no information on the 2018, does anyone have any info from their dealers if the 2018 will be delayed in Europe? If I cancel my order and wait for 2018 to be available, I'm ok if I get the car this summer but not if it means getting it in autumn. They're saying production could be begin as early as mid April. Any information on this is much appreciated. Thanks.

Since the production line will only produce MY2018 aka Facelift from june 2017 I don't think they will continue the "old look" for europe. So with production in June the first Facelifts would be here around Late July.

Ford will most likely reveal the facelift at NAIAS in January, so I would definitely wait for that and some informations what facelift features actually come to europe. 10-AT, magnetic ride and dual exhaust are sounding awesome, at least it would bug me if i pass on these options because a few months of more waiting.

All the prototypes we have seen for now are only US specs... So we can imagine a little delay in getting everything ready for the EU market.

Keeping 2 production lines for the actual and the new model is a no sense. So we will get the facelift but now the point is the options. Do we get everything or again only a small part of all the things listed in the other thread ...

As the 2015 EU Mustang was revealed around May in Germany for this production year, maybe the Headquarter will prepare something like this for the EU 2018 model.

For now, we can only speculate about things ...

What's certain is that the first 2018 EU cars will not be here before October 2017 and that is already assuming they will commence production of the 2018 EU spec directly in June.

It would be a safe bet to not expect them here before end of 2017.

Personally though I would not buy an EU version again and get a US import version. It saves you all the hassle with the stupid lights plus you can get seat memory and adaptive cruise control.

From what I know they spend around 2 months in Belgium after they arrive, so if they begin production in June, I'm thinking late august or mid september for 2018 to arrive in EU. Not sure it's worth it for me, I don't plan on keeping the car more than 1.5-2 years. But there is speculation in the other thread that production might begin in April. That certainly changes things.

Did we figure out if they had any REAL reason to leave out memory seats and BLIS? (I could guess BLIS because the sensors would be in the mirrors?)

I'm with Eric. Not an EU version anymore! We've got _less_ for _more_. Warranty?? My dealer is a scumbag, he don't know anything, he won't get me any assistance, Ford Italy\Europe don't know anything about this car, every replacement part need to come directly from US and only when you need it (so months of waiting).

Getting a like-new US model we could have a fully loaded car with all options for less than we paid here, included import costs. And if you consider what we paid for modding our cars to appear like the US original, the difference is even more noticeable.

No, mirrors are not the reason because the version sold in UAE\Dubai has BLIS with our dumboJumbo mirrors! Also, sensors are not in mirrors but in the rear sides.
They probably won't make many different version for Europe so I can imagine that for 2018 would not be different.

Can you change the Nav software to the EU one on US models?

With sync2 you can change something in APIM (some companies do it) and then buy an EU sd card.
In sync3 I don't know, but sync3 supprts android auto and apple carplay so you can have the best nav software available (google maps).

Yeah but that uses data, and roaming data gets expensive quickly...

Actually all you need for a 2015 US car with Sync2 to work is a 40 euro SD card with the EU maps. You will have incorrect voice guidance and voice entry of destinations will probably work poorly but the navigation itself does work. Replacing the Sync2 US software with the EU version can be done but it's specialist work and quite costly.

Sync3 nav doesn't use an SD card for the maps anymore, they must be loaded into the system by a dealer so you cannot update that yourself. But Android Auto over Sync3 rocks with Google Maps. No need to update anything and no need to spend $800 on the factory nav option either.

That's only an issue when you're driving abroad. Which for most people is almost never. And in that rare occasion you can always use an offline navigator or app.

Uhm, voice navigation with EU maps on US software won't work poorly. It simply won't work... the "nice" lady even tells you the maps are incapable of this.

As you may remember, my EU stang got delivered with US Sync2 so I know :D

As for Carplay and Android Auto - I suspect that is just as much a load of crap as Siri is currently. Shouldn't the point of voice commands be that I should keep my hands on the wheel and not fiddle with the phone? Then why, when I ask Siri to start Spotify, does she answer with "I can't help you with that WHILE YOU ARE IN YOUR CAR!!!"

If I want Spotify music I need to open the phone and start the app manually before entering the car (if I want to drive safely... and I do :D)

But you have sync2, right?

However, my point is (a bit OT though) that even with some difficulties, I won't get and EU version of an US car anymore.
