Interesting on the weight! Assuming Recaro's only save a max of 5 pounds per seat, that would put a base GT Auto with Recaro's at 3,694-5 pounds or so.
A race weight GT (1/4 tank, -75lbs) with aftermarket catback (-30 lbs) and a drycell battery (-15lbs) would only be 3,570lbs without driver with stock rims and rubber. So much for the S550 GT being a "pig".

You guys should put together a track pack as a better option to the FRPP option from ford.

I like the way you think! We are waiting for our company owned 2015 to arrive, and this will be our hardcore development mule. Once we get it here and tear it apart, we should have parts available fairly quickly!

So, it begins. Plans are to make this car a Street/Strip monster.

This car is a 300A, Auto, No Options.

Taking it to the track tonight for baselines - then, game on.

Details coming - stay tuned!

Part of me hates you right now Kelly! can't wait to see that beast on the track! ever plan on taking it to the 1/8th mile at sunset speedway?

That is possibly the brightest shop in the world... Do you put sun glasses on when you walk into the building?

Leaving for the track in a few....

Scaled car at 3704lbs - STOCK, FULL tank. Not bad!

Of course....it will be lighter tonight. ;))))
A 2011-2013 base GT is around 3600-3620 lbs with a spare tire and full tank so a difference around 80-100lbs + maybe 30 lbs for the 2011 aluminum spare?
110-130 lbs difference not bad at all for a IRS car :D

Planning on losing a half pound of rubber from the back tires? :D

I'm looking forward to seeing what you end up doing to your car and also seeing what your car ends up running.

Good Luck at the track tonight!

It's stock...
Check out Anything S550's Facebook thread on it. Big shot of the trunk with what looks like a RTS rim with a DR in a gutted trunk. He mentions elsewhere the interior wasn't intact for the run...more or less

I chose the automatic because I plan on taking this car well into the 9's, possibly 8's, in the 1/4 mile.

I also really liked to paddle shifters. Something about OEM paddle shifters really tickles my fancy. ;)

OH - and I cannot forget about my wife. I have owned some VERY fast cars, and the clutches I have had to run in the past to handle the power, my wife does not like. Occasionally, I would like my wife to be able to cruise a 9-second car to work. lol
I just see your time slip. I think you have the 3.15 gear, so it's why the 60' is note realy quick, even with the DR. Could you tell me at what RPM you finish the 1/4 and what is the RPM at 70mph on the highway. I order mine with the 3.15 but I'm not sure that was the good one too chose and it's not too late modify my order.
