P2111 code

Couple pulls tonight with a buddy of mine. Same mods. Longtubes.tune.cold air. Neck and neck race. Get to the bottom of 5th gear redline around 6700 rpm. Car shuts down throws a code. Throttle body stuck open. This has happened before and I replaced the throttle body about a year ago. First time its happened since. Y does this keep happening? These cars cant redline past 6500 in the 5th without a problem? Please help? Also should I replace it and go with a gt 350 throttle body instead? Thanks

FWIW, I didn't have that problem with the factory tune or with the PP2 tune. I was shifting out of 5th at 7000 at Daytona and another Mustang with a Lund tune was staying in 5th given that he had a 7800 RPM tune. Note, I use my car pretty much as a track car, though since I drive it to the track it is used on the road so I tend to have a fair amount of experience with it at the high end of the RPM scale.

Nice to see someone else from Wilmington on here. Where are u tracking your car?


To the OP that sounds like it would be a tuning issue if it happened more than once with different throttle bodys. Who are you tuned by?

I wanna go with lund but their not answering the phone going straight to voicemail sent an email no reply, buddy told me to get a palm beach dyno tune but he never called me back smh..Can't give them my money lol.smh

Talked to my Tuner today, he re flashed my tune to see if that helps, he also told me if it happens again, pull over, don't shut the car off, plug the SCT tuner into the car while its running and write down the codes. he said sometimes when you shut the car down, some of the codes disappear. I gonna try it and see what happens.

Took it up to 151 lastnight 5th gear 6700 6800 no wrench code. That tells me nothing wrong with my throttle body, the computer saw something it didn't like. Im leaning more towards tune releated. What do u guys think? Still think I should switch to lund?
