They are made for us by ITT the same company that makes the Koni.

Plus, they are made to our valving spec and have a lifetime warranty.

The rears will be coming out in 60 days. It will be the adjustable rear spring seat which is placed in the upper sub-frame.

We have seen a lot of durability concerns with the true coil-over in the rear which is placed on the outboard side of the trailing arm.

I agree S550 Chassis doesn't allow a durable true coil over design in rear since the shock will always have to be mounted in shear direction.

Ha... And I still have the Steeda adj pro actions waiting for springs to be installed. Should have waited.

When is your hybrid spring going to be released?

You are correct, Also, the rear mount that attaches to the wheel well sheet metal starts to oil can going over irregularities in the road. We documented this in testing.

That's a very good point.

Called this as soon as I started seeing coilover kits mounting there...

What??????????????????? If done right, there are no issues. All the Ford Racing S550 cars have a rear coilover

The highest force the damper mount area has to take up with a PP shock, for instance, is ~250-270 lb. Since the Shelby has significantly higher rates it's fair to assume the dampers might exert in the neighborhood of 400 lb. Even with a safety factor of 2, you're at 800 lbs, which the stock GT rear spring rates would do easily at that location, without damper force included. You're looking at well over 2000 lbs of force at that location with a high rate (street-focused) spring, let alone what some of you guys are running for autocross-only setups. Sure, if you distribute the load well, you can probably make it live, but it wasn't designed to take the spring loads in addition to the damper's.

The GT350R-C/GT4 looks to have a mount that distributes the load well & differently than a stock S550:
