Installed the mgw short shifter last night, worked great, but going on 5th gear was a challenge and revert gear. When the car hit about 3k room it vibrated hard, like you having a solid motor mount, and this is the second generation shifter, did anyone have the same issue?

sounds like you need to set your lockout. George purposely leaves it a little tight so you have to set it properly. The reverse spring will also take some time to loosen up. Once it does you will notice a big difference in effort.

You will need to talk more about your installation process before we can diagnose where you are having issues. If the transmission mount wasn't properly marked before removal you could have put it back in the wrong place. The car also needs to be level when you reassemble it to ensure all components line up correctly and are not binding. Did you have the car up on all 4 jack stands at the time you put it back together?

Just instant my mgw 2 weeks ago, no vibration issues. She's a little stiff going into reverse, but will loosen up, I've had 6 other mgw's. Get her dialed in and she'll be perfect.

I would suggest that you loosen up the transmission cross member and move the transmission back and forth and let it find it's neutral position. If it is preloaded one way or the other you will get vibrations.

hope this helps.

And because I would want to be super careful I would tighten the 4 bolts diagonally and in phases to avoid any preload.

Bought mine directly as well, with the adapter for my knob, quick ship, it’s been installed along with my suspension upgrade and new alignment but I am throwing an ABS error code, waiting for a new sensor, hoping the shop can get one quickly ie tomorrow, otherwise I am SOL till I get back from Kansas. I will be in withdrawal no baby for 3 weeks.

Did you mark the tranny location before hand? See if you can see the spots on bracket where it was too start with
