I looked everywhere for one of those and the only thing I could find was one for adapting a 90mm GT350 unit on a 5.0 Coyote. A group buy would be a great idea but I'm not sure if it would be cheaper than 50 or less for the machine shop drilling the the 5.0 TB.


How big is the stock V6 intake manifolds inlet? If it's 80mm that's great if not it needs to be port matched or within a couple mm of being port matched. OP put up a pic of the blade open with the GT throttle body bolted up. Also the electronics are definitely different on the 2015 and up GT throttle body so those will definitely require a tune to run.
It's 80mm or 3", the first thing I did was measure. The S197 guys who did this as well did not do any port matching. Any more would remove gasket area and surpass 80mm. I'll try to take that pic of the butterfly open next time I have it apart again (when I check filter or do 170* t-stat) as most will want definite proof. BBK most likely would have went with an 80mm upgrade if it didn't require owners to remove the fins. Thank you for informing that the electronics are different between the 2011-2014 and 2015+. Did the pinouts change for the 2015+? I do know the 2011-2014 vs 2015+ look radically different.

V6 intake manifold is about 79.5mm in diameter.
Nice, thanks for the confirmation. Barely enough difference (if any) to risk porting into the gasket area. It's probably no difference or less than the connections between couplers in the tubing.

Working on getting connector pinouts for the 15 5.0 and 3.7 now. I will let you know what I find.

I've been mulling this over since last night and as long as the electronics work okay, getting a custom plate made or making one myself shouldn't be much of an issue. Once someone gives confirmation that the electronics work together from a 15 GT throttle body to a 15 V6, I'll get to work fabricating.

That should be the easy part! Haha... Unfortunately my throttle body will not be here tell Wednesday...

Don't some of the five liter F150s from 2011 to 2014 have the same throttle body as the GT Mustangs? If so won't they work.

From what I can tell, the F150 throttle body is identical to the Mustang throttle body so it should work as well.

I'm obviously no CAD or drafting expert (so please do not take this picture as fit to scale template) but I did the best I can to make a basic/rough diagram showing what to do. Basically you are going straight down 0.187" towards the center. That will line it up with the V6 mounting holes. Hope this helps.

First draft of TB Adapter is done! Have to verify dimensions when my TB gets here and then it should be good to go! Plan to make a 3D printed prototype and then hopefully move on to an CNC machined aluminum part. Missing from this draft is a feature for the rubber seal... I am trying to decide if I want to go with the OEM seal or a more simple gasket.

The GT TB is tilted about 25 degrees from horizontal which hopefully should be enough to clear the thermostat housing and not effect hood clearance. That would be one of the things I will test with the 3D printed prototype.

Very sick. I know the design is totally up to you as the creator but an OE rubber seal would be awesome. Rubber seals are excellent because they're reusable and OE gasket fitment is always nice. I am almost sure with the spacer your making it sure clear the t-stat housing. Your idea will be great for those who don't want to possibly lower the motor. Glad we could put our heads together on this to give the middle finger to over priced throttle bodies.
