Rust coming from the wheel hub

Wow, I just had my fronts all apart, replacing the hubs. When I took the dust caps off, they were very clean inside, not even the slightest sign of rust and my car is a little over 2 years old, driven in winter / salty roads and always pressure washed. I did munge up the dust caps a little taking them off, maybe now I'll replace them.

Are you running them without the dust caps? I'm thinking that's the case. I'm not talking about the wheel center cap, there should be a dust cap over the hub but with some aftermarket wheels they hit the dust cap. Most people just mash the cap in a little so the wheel center cap will fit.

LOL, I just realized you were posting to a thread from 7 months ago. I guess OP may not even be looking.
