I was just curious if anyone knows what the max weight you can have in the trunk and back seat is. If I needed to carry let's say 1500lbs of rocks and crystals back there would it be an issue?
You'd be better off renting a pickup truck for the day. I think it's like $80?

I sense this entire thread is in jest, but just in case it's not...

GVWR is something like 4720. Most cars will weigh in around 3700-3800 lbs. so your looking at around 900-1k lbs including driver/passenger(s).

I had 3 passengers in my car once. Altogether we weighed ~700 lbs. My GT felt heavy AF but it didn't feel like it was struggling. It kept up with the flow of traffic and it still felt faster than an FRS/BRZ.

But seriously, 1500 lbs would be ill advised and hauling gravel and rocks in a Mustang is a no-no. Borrow a friends pickup.

I got about 1300lbs of people and cargo including a cat in my Mazdaspeed3 and drove cross country. It felt like a school bus and was very low but never had any issue. Could you do it? Sure. Should you? Only if you're desperate. Remember, acceleration doesn't matter as much as braking and handling, and if you've got tubs of rock sliding around the trunk you might have a big damn problem if you need to do emergency maneuvers.

I'd be more concerned about the tire load capability.

The ratings are on the door tag for a reason, which is probably to cover the car makers butt. Any load beyond that is on you...
