Known unofficially as the Magnum XL, this new 6-speed model will feature a direct-shift extension housing designed to eliminate the notoriously unpopular semi-remote factory shifter. Additionally, a slip yoke style interface will also make it easy to ditch the equally unpopular 2-piece driveshaft in favor of a more robust 1-piece arrangement.​

As with all Magnum 6-speeds, TREMEC aims to put a 700 lb-ft. seal of approval on the new Mustang units, and will eventually offer them with both Magnum ratio packages to suit a variety of street and performance driving scenarios.​
Great solution for 2011+ Ford Mustangs with fragile factory Getrag MT-82 transmissions! Also replacing the weak TR3650 and the shifting issue prone TR6060.​

Two different ratio options are available:​

2.66:1st 1.78:2nd 1.30:3rd 1.00:4th 0.74:5th 0.50:6th​
2.97:1st 2.07:2nd 1.43:3rd 1.00:4th 0.80:5th 0.62:6th​

Transmission will work with OEM slave cylinder​

***2015-up require the Speed Calibration Box which is added into the cost of the package when selecting your vehicle***

So much want....I hate the MT82
call them, see what you can work out i had them install one in my previous 2012 paxton charged gt, loved the transmission and you will to.

Jpc will send your original rxt out for a spline change, after that you can use it in your new transmission. However i recommend not re-using your used slave cylinder, jpc can provide a new factory slave for the install!

Same boat here since I already have an RXT too.
Shifting my MT 82 is vastly improved with the MGW but wondering for how long it will last at the 850-950 rwhp my KB is putting through it .

I think MGW also has a shifter for the Magnum and you could recoup some of the cost by selling your intact MT82(with or without RXT attached ) and drive shaft.

I have already put aside a "Tranny fund" for if or when the MT82 gives up.I am going to try and get it in the 9's power shifting with a WOT box.
I wonder though if it is better to do the swap before the MT 82 breaks although the one in my 12(cryotreated/shift fork pads)held up to 850 while other drive line parts around It broke (axles/2 drive shafts)chasing a 9 second slip-never got it as driveline parts kept breaking .

I ended up swapping the intact MT 82(later broke in a 900rwhp turbo car) for the 6R80 and it almost immediately ran 9's after the swap ....but car became so boring I had no regrets trading it for a GT 350!(despite the $$$$ I had in it ).

I have been considering this transmission because i'm not a fan of the mt-82. I'll keep it until it fails or i go FI. Anyone know the price for the kit?

Have they finally figured out a way to convert the speed signal for the s550 yet? They have had a couple of guys try the install with no luck. It doesn't affect the speedometer to my knowledge since it operates from the wheel speed sensors, but it won't allow cruise control to work, they get some crazy throttle hang issues and I believe they have a MIL on all the time if I'm not mistaken.

I'm sure they have. I'm running a Magnum and everything works as normal on mine.
