Hey anyone who has aftermarket wheels,

i'm looking at after market wheels, i'm just wondering how it works with putting the pressure sensors in the new wheels, do you have to buy new ones? if so how much have they cost you?

Cheers

You can order these from a Ford store. Think the were £96 for the set.

You will need them to get the car to relearn the new sensors

You could simply re-use the ones in the stock wheels. I just didn't want to take the tyres of (keeping them just in case), so bought a spare set to go into my new wheels

Yeah thats what i was thinking too, either keep them as a spare or sell them on, either way they need the valve so it is better if i can get another set

Like MrWolf, I just ordered a new set of standard sensors.:)

I think they were around £85 from my local dealer.... He gave me a small discount:ford:

How do you reset the sensors etc.?

The sets you see on sites like AM seem to have a little remote control. Do you need something like this? I assume a local dealer can do it, but would they charge an hours (min) labour?

This is how you programme. You will need the training tool.

I bought a new set and the programming remote tool from CJPP. Probably paid a bit more but do not have to worry now about switching wheels. It is also advisable to re-program after you've had a flat.

Can't remember exactly but I think it's in Settings.

You won't mistake it for anything else as it says Tyre Pressure Reset or TPMS Reset.
Thank you. I try and find it and give it a go

Make sure you buy the UK/Euro sensors. I think the US ones are a different frequency.

If you get stuck and you're local we have a TPMS training tool here so we'd happily help out (we wouldn't charge an hours labour - it takes all of 5 minutes to do)
