How is this a surprise to any of you?
Because when most cars are refreshed the price never jumps more than 2k, it's often as little as a few hundred dollars.

WOW

Ive been laying in the weeds about making a decision on a local 2017:

Local Dealer has 2017, GT Premium (400A), Perf Pack w/ Security
X Plan is $39,425

2018 - GT Base w/ 301A, Perf Pack
X Plan is $41,990

$2500 more - the Perf Pack itself went up $1000. And that is going down to cloth / heated / cooled seats

Wonder when the incentives will start rolling in once they don't sell as many as they would want.

Base GT A10, 301A w/ 3.55 gears?

$40,085..

Pretty much the same as a 1SS Camaro now (actually a bit more expensive), but without the brembo brakes, wider tires, LCD dash and touch screen.

Something something value for dollar something something.

I'd never buy a Camaro..but..really Ford?

The mustang is getting a much more complex DI fuel system. The base GT is getting more expensive suspension components. All of this cost money. I personally was expecting a $1500 bump to the base price.

It's not. The increase on the PP was a surprise though.
Eh, not really. Tires alone are probably at least half of the price increase.

Shame about forcing the 4k performance pack just to get mag ride.

Glad i am sticking with my 2017, I knew it would be more expensive but that is crazy with everything i wanted it was 52k msrp.

wow.....for the same spec as my 15 + magride it's 49,275, more than 7k more than sticker (5400 minus magride) for the same spec at MSRP and about 13k more than i paid new. damn.... Camaro prices are starting to look not so bad after all hahaha.

Sure it costs money, but they have to remember their target demographic. I feel like a huge amount of GTs I see running around are base models. Getting a V8 and 435 hp for 34k was a steal. Now that same base car (with X-plan discounts no less) is now 36k. So non-X plan you're looking at 38k. Maybe 4k isn't a big deal to most, but I think it'll hurt sales. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm disappointed, touching almost 50k. The 301a seems like a waste, I optioned out identical cars but one had 301a and the other 400a price difference was ~1000. Looks like I may be sticking with my 15 after all

Now the complaints are about price.
This was no simple refresh like new colors or lights, this was major!
Price it like a 17 without the goodies and not a major jump. What did you expect? a price reduction?

Some of you guys would complain that a bar of gold you found on the beach was too heavy!

I think most that liked the S550 body style and wanted a deal already purchased one. Ford is going after those performance nuts who were holding out.

I'm curious why everyone on here is so interested in Active Exhaust. How many of you who purchase that will ultimately still buy an aftermarket exhaust? Waste of money. Spend that $900 on an aftermarket exhaust and be happy.

Looks like the shaker pro was removed from the 401A package as well. It's an extra $847.00 with X plan.
