How much lowered do you think you are now Ericc B?
About 30-35mm front and about 25mm rear. I used a coilover kit, but the ride height now fairly matches that of regular lowering springs like Eibach Pro.

You've got 255/35R20 and 295/30R20 now, right?
Correct. For the rear I chose the 295/30 over the 285/30 because my car is an EcoBoost and the 295 actually matches the OEM tire height better. The rear wheel is 10J20 ET40. 285 would be the ideal width for a 10J wheel, but the 295 fits fine, actually better than I expected.

There are also a few 10.5J20 wheels from Niche with ET45 which are an even better match to the 295. Unfortunately the Essen only comes in 10J20.

Thanks! Gotta write that down somewhere. Got coilovers on the way too (Pedders), so in stead of just doing the trial and error with the heights after installation, should be good to have an estimation where to start.

I'd have gone for 295 over 285 too. I just don't like the idea of having a smaller diameter rear tire than front (even those 0.2"). I know you probably won't see a difference that small, but in my mind it's just like those super old bikes with a huge wheel in front and a tiny one in the rear  Actually, would you mind if I'd send your pictures to a local customer that's chosing his tires right now (just ordered the Niche Misano in the exact same spec as your Essen)?

Sure go ahead. And make him get Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Best tire on the planet.

I will :paddle:

Since he's only getting his car in February and those sizes will be one of the rare few that will be continued in Michelin's new version, he'll probably be able to choose from the new Pilot Sport 4S or get the outgoing Pilot Super Sport at a better price (might be wishful thinking :D).

Some of those Niche wheels look great.

Theyve gone straight to the top of my list :)

Whats the best recommended ET to fill the arches of a GT then? I want to go square (but dont have to, if it makes a difference)

I def. want to go 20".

Front: 255/35/20 on 9J20 ET25

Rear: 285/35/20 on either 10J20 ET40 or 10.5J10 ET45.

Square setup is not optimal on a GT because the factory setup isn't square either.

It depends on what you want from the car. The non-square set-up is designed to encourage understeer. I *understand* why they do that, but it makes it a pain not being able to rotate tyres.

Thanks for the size tips. Will be my mod for the spring (as long as I dont keep getting €400 speeding fines!! :ninja: :headbonk: )

Yeah I understand, except that I don't really see the use of rotating tires. You may extend the wear fractionally but on a 50K car who cares about saving 100 bucks on tire wear.

If you wanna go with a square setup on a GT you will either have to put on wider tires in the front or smaller tires in the rear. Neither sounds like like an attractive option to me. The best size in tires for a square 20" setup is probably 275/35/20 on 10J20 ET40 wheels.

Would you mind adding a small spacer? Cause the 20x10E40 all around that most Niche wheels have seems perfect than, but you might need to add a small spacer up front to make the center cap fit right (like with the Essen: post #23 here). Good thing is: you could basically choose how much wider you want to go than the OEM wheels if you wouldn't mind a small spacer.

With 20x10ET40, you'd be at around an extra 18mm. So with 3, 5 or 7mm spacers you'd be at 21, 23 or 25mm.

F.e. 21mm (18 + 3) in front and 18mm in the rear would get you where Eric's at with his Essen.

Personally I'd do that if I'd want 20" squared and throw 285/35R20 PS4S on them (275/35R20 won't exist anymore :tsk:).

If you would mind the spacers: see the sizes Eric's posted earlier

Yeh, id rather not have the spacer. If you are going to spend so much money on wheels they should really fit (and stance) straight out of the box. hmmm.

Get it!

Than 20x9ET25 in front and 20x10ET40 in rear is the way for the models (I'm only sure of the Essen, will check on others) that would require the spacer.

You could always do 275 all around on those! 285's on the 9" is not recommended.

Or a forged wheel with custom offsets :ninja:

With the burnouts kapiteinlangzaam is doing, he'll have to change the rears 2x more than the fronts anyway :D
