Diode Dynamics LED Sidemarkers failure

Bought those less than a year ago and both of them started to fail partially.

I'll have them RMA'ed for sure, but is this a common thing?

I do find it strange than both of them exibit the same problem and they've only been on the car for 11 months.

Mine failed after about a month and DD wouldn't do anything about it, they told me to go back to the retailer. Kinda not impressed, going to get something different next.

Update: DD has replaced my sidemarkers now

One of mine failed after a little over a year. Originally purchased through Steeda but DD replaced them no questions asked. All I had to do was show copy of the original invoice. Had the replacements in three days.

Known defect as the unit is not sealed correctly. Call and warranty them for replacements
then on the new ones clear RTV on the outside edge to seal and then install.

Makes sense it started happening during winter. Will have to look into something like that.

Purchased mine from CJPony and had the same issue after few months. Contacted DD for replacement and received the updated version.

Mine have been on about 18 months. No problems. But the amount of problems continuously reported about DD is not a good sign. Too bad. There is no substitute for quality.

No problem with mine

I also had issues with the first run of these but DD replaced them free of charge. No issues with the newer version.

Had mine fail after a few months. DD replaced them. So far, so good.
I think my failure was due to not properly sealing the connector. Water got in there.

How come they did that for you guys and not me? Maybe I should email them again.

bought mine from LMR, 1 side started losing LEDs within a couple of months, LMR replaced them with another set but i had to cover the shipping. this was common with DD's first set, then they fixed it

There was an issue with the first production batch of these. We have had nearly zero total failures since we revised the design and sealing process late last summer. Happy to get you a set of the updated ones!

I actually have had a second one start failing on the passenger side. It works ok during dry days, but once it rains or I wash the car, a few areas go bad. I bought these two years ago now I think....or was it just last year? Anyways, will have to check with DD for replacement.
