MSD performance coil packs

Has anyone installed these yet? Thinking about grabbing them and installing with my next set of plugs. Anyone know the difficulty of changing them out?

We always stick with oem. We never see any performance gains with aftermarket coil packs and they tend to die out quicker then oem.

MSD packs are a ripoff and die quicker than the OEM ones.

They look pretty and you can add "MSD coils" to you signature...

And that, in a nutshell, is all they are good for.

Never really justified for the absurd price they call for imho. Maybe if you need new ones and you find them in an alley. But search the forums and there's a reason you wont turn up 10 threads on coil packs.

MSD ignition components are known to fail prematurely... In fact, it's been known across Mustang forums since the original 5.0 Mustang movement was sparked in 1986 that MSD products are problematic.. Google is your friend.

Usually you would need stronger coil packs in high horsepower, high compression and extreme forced induction vehicles when used in timed events where potential spark blowout could be a problem.

On a daily driver that would never see any track time or one that would see fun track events maybe 3x a year? Put your money into better mods where you will see benefits.

I threw a set of 4 in the ecoboost, no significant gains from them other than having some red decorative coils.
