Follow along as we install and test our new 6" thick in-house built intercooler core upgrade!

We're all about transparency.. it keeps us honest, and keeps us improving. So, we'll post data from before (3.5" core) and after with the new core.

I dont think he was questioning the volume of boosted air across the core. He was talking about the air coming through the grill trying to get through a 6" core. Surface area width x height is more important than thickness for cooling efficiency. Until you reach the choke point of CFM required for horsepower desired. Only then do you need to increase thickness to supply addl. CFM for the horsepower. I think your 4.5" core is Badass lots of surface area. Just unsure how much boosted cfm/ HP it can support. Would love to see a 6" version of that larger surface area core.

Back on topic,

Cant wait to see the results. Thanks for doing this test.

Yeah, there's a balancing act there. If the air gets stagnant going through the core, it can hinder things. But, I think it'll do ok. There's a huge amount of airflow being squeezed through that opening.

Unfortunately, without cutting the car, I can't go any taller in the GT350. The GT will fit the taller 4.5" core. But, this is why we test things. This 350 is built, so we can make 1200whp or so. That'll give us a good idea of what this core is made of.

How long has the 350 been boosted? Its good to see someone pushing the platform rather than an install thread followed by a disappearing act.

Yall should make some mid length headers that could be used for an NA setup and then later on have turbo adapters bolted on the collectors for low mount twins. That would be awesome.

I don't think it's crooked. The top is slanted to help evenly distribute the air through the intercooler giving an illusion.

You’re correct. It was a jab at Travis.

I’m just impressed he put the boost Works sticker on straight to compensate

Too bad you can not make one that is not mounted crooked!

lol.. If I hear this one more time.... ;)

I actually had someone call me and tell me it was a "deal breaker" because the intercooler was crooked.
