How to get Sync3 screen to install Android Auto?

I have Sync 3 ver 2.2 and Android Auto on my phone. But when I connect phone to USB port, still no option shows for Android Auto. Please help!

Try a different cable.

To anyone who hasn't updated to 2.2, I just updated to Sync 3 2.2 and so far it has been working smoothly but it does have a major bug which involves the audio controls. Apparently the update caused the audio controls (both the knob and the steering wheel buttons) to have a ~.7-1 second delay when increasing and decreasing the volume. This results in the volume jumping from low to high because of the lag. Page 174 of this thread has posts from other members experiencing the same issue.

what phone you have?
have make sure u have android auto app installed and given full permissions in app permissions settings.
make sure to use a solid cable (yes, i read u wrote u tried 3 different cables)
make sure ur phone is connected to ur car BT

I have the LG Stylo 3 phone with Android ver 7.0
Android Auto is installed and works, except my car does not show up in the Connected Cars screen.

did you enable AA in the SYNC 3 settings?

I can't...Android Auto does not show up in Sync 3 settings anywhere. This is my problem.

Swipe the settings page to the left to get to the second page.

If you have v2.2 it's there.

Thank you so much! It works now! I did not know that screen was there.
BTW do I have to keep my phone connected by USB cable all time to use Android Auto? It can't thru Bluetooth connection?

Yes you have to keep your phone connected by USB cable to use Android Auto.

Anyone notice the splash screen in 2.2? Apparently the closing splash screen is now the same as the welcome screen (light going up in the running pony emblem). In 1.0, the closing splash screen showed the light going down the running pony emblem and instead of going up.

Hi TexasRebel,

Today I connected my phone to my Sync 3 and Android Auto does not show up on my screen. What can I do to get it to work again like it did yesterday?
Everything is set up correctly on phone and Sync3.

I'm still yet to find anything useful using Android Auto. There are no apps that come up and Spotify chooses when and when it will not appear. As it stands the sync3 interface does everything - unless I'm missing something???

Google assist by itself is enough.
whatsapp, text, etc hear and reply with using voice.
smarthome integration via voice is flawless.
google maps by itself is x10000 better then the sync 3 built in crap nav
IMHO it is very well worth it.
