I love mine although I would recommend getting extra longer bolts like the Ford factory ones just so that you have the factory bolts in the factory location as well as one of the rear twos you will be installing in the different locations.
The provided bolts don't seem to be as long and barely engage the full depth of threads.

I was curious about the. Lot length as well when I installed mine. Seemed odd that you would use shorter bolts than those that came out when you are adding thickness to where the bolts are going.

I put some thread lock on mine during the install to be safe. I still have the bolts that came out “just in case”.

Maybe tj@steeda can explain?

Some cars from the factory never even came with bolts, they are not needed in the factory setup.

We choose a length that allowed for proper thread engagement but also kept weight at an absolute minimum.

Hope that helps!

These things are amazing, I've used them to paint my calipers, swap tranny fluid, and Change wheels.

By chance, do the jacking rails happen to mark the rough center line fore/aft of where to jack the car so that the weight is equal both front / rear?

No, but here is a tip - put them just behind the center of the car. The front of the car weighs slightly more, so take the wheelbase, divide by 2, measure from the front wheel back and go a little further. Should be somewhere in the middle of the door.

Hope that helps!

Best Regards,

TJ

Mine had 3 longer factory bolts per side and I just reused them, and then added two of the Steeda kit bolts.

Question, Can I place a floor jack in the middle of the Jacking Rail to raise one side of the car? Is the rail strong enough for this?

So did they place the jackstands under rails?..and is it me or did the other side seem more complicated to lift?

I ordered a set of the Steeda jacking rales based on feedback in this forum, both this thread and others. I received them today and in maybe half an hour had them on the car and couldn't resist throwing the jack under there and marveling at how fantastic a thing they are!

For anyone considering, but like I was, cost conscious and wanting to maximize your value per mod / change, go for it... they are great!
