So the tubes were hanging too low as I kept scraping them over back roads and anyplace that the front dipped. The tubes have medium damage, so I patched them tubes with heavy duty duct tape.

I raised them up tonight (white zip ties) but did not get to do a test drive. This is not a final solution, but just a short test.

It would seem like the duct work should be going over the steering rack tie rod ends, not under them as pictured...

The way it is now, looks like a lot of stress on the ductwork due to sag and that is pulling at the backing plate.

???

Have you tried to redirect the duct work yet?
