Here is a pictorial of the install of the "Full Tilt Boogie Brake Cooling Kit"

GT (non-PP)

I did not take final pics of the tubing cinched down (sorry).

Extra parts used were bolts, some washers, and locking nuts to thoroughly secure the included nozzles to the OEM grille backing. Also added some black aluminum screening from Lowe's (it's fine, but not too fine to block airflow, I hope!) to help keep leaves, little pebbles and anything else the car will pick up out of the tubing.

At full lock, there is a very slight rub (Apex 18x9 wheels, 265 mm tires, no spacers).

Found a PDF on how to remove the front bumper. Starts on page 30.

This was helpful

After the nozzle was heated a few times and molded to the backing of the grille opening

Holes are drilled through the nozzle and grille backing

Note that the screening is applied over what you see here, then the tubing is added over the screening. Then use one of the included Zip Ties. With this design, should the screening ever need replacing, it should be pretty easy to remove and replace the screening.

The lower grille is back in the bumper cover.

Bumper cover is back on the car. Behinds the scenes view

The tubing is not cinched down, but you get the idea

Are you going to put anything in the inlet when not track driving? Great job and thanks for the in depth write up!

Thanks. I figured this would help people who are interested.

Nope, the airflow will be at all times. I'll be on the track this coming weekend, so the kit will get it's first run.

Do you have a photo of the gap between the rotor and the duct?
I do not. I can get one this weekend when I rotate the wheels.

Basically, remove the OEM backing plate and bolt these on. The tube end only goes down as far as is possible at the crux of the plate/tube connection (hidden from view, at top)

One thing I will add to this is you may want to wrap some electrical tape around the inlets on the backing plates to allow the hose to have something to hang onto when you zip tie it on. Mine have slipped off twice. Wrapped the inlet pipe with thick rubbery electrical tape then zip tied back on and havent moved since.

Nice work! What intake nozzles did you use and how did you adapt it to your grille? I'd like the same setup and do not want to sacrifice my fog lights for brake cooling. Thanks for the write-up.

Interesting development.

I have 1 track day with this kit installed. The day was low 60's air temp. The FTB backing plates are warped. At least it's warped AWAY from the rotor. I suspect it's due to the weight pulling on the backside. You can see in the 2 pics, (one is obvious), that the plate is warped.

I will have to get good pics of this and send them to FTB for evaluation.

Did they say to zip tie to sway bar? That doesn't seem like a good idea.

Maybe a small gusset needs to be fabricated on it (?)
