How do I tell if I'm running rich or lean from looking at the air/fuel gauge that the car comes with? Sometimes normal driving it reads in between 14.1 or 2 too 13.1 in that ball park. Waiting for my tune to come in. Check engine is on because i have longtubes and no tune with the stock air box. These r the codes that pop up. p0430 p0420. 485 miles on the motor. I just dont want anything to go wrong because I'm driving with the light on. Noticed my tail pipes were getting black at the bottom tip. Hopefully my tune will be here soon.

Lean is when it's reading higher than 14, rich is when it's lower than 14. While you are cruising it should hover around 14 but it can dip to like 13.X and go back up to 14.X which is normal.

At WOT I'm not 100% sure but on stock tune it should be like 11.X which could explain the black soot on your tips because it's running very rich at WOT.

Target AFR is ~14.1 14.2 based on E10 gas. So you'll definitely see it go into the 13s and high 14s during normal operation. You might even see it go richer into the 12s but that's usually during periods of transition between DFCO and normal operation, so you shouldn't be there except for a split second. Leaner than mid 14s can also be seen during that time again for a split second.

WOT, you're gonna be in the high 11s low 12s, with 13s being too lean and mid 11s being too rich.
