Just wanted to confirm on how the X-Plan Pricing works.

X-Plan:

1. Total Options + Base Price + Destination = Total MSRP
2. Total MSRP - Dealer Holdback = Dealer Cost
3. Dealer Cost - X-Plan (0.04) - Rebates = True Cost
4. True Cost + Taxes + Document Fees + Fuel Charge = Out the Door Price

Is my formula here right?

From the sticky in this forum
To calculate X-Plan Pricing: Invoice minus (0.4% of Invoice) + $275 Dealer Fee

No.

You have left out Dealer Invoice. Dealer Invoice is what XPlan is based off of but it is not what the dealer actually pays...hold back is deducted from Invoice not MSRP. aka dealers pay 3% less then what Invoice is listed at (subject to other behind the scenes add ons and reductions by Ford).

aka Invoice- Hold back= Dealer true cost (sort of)

XPlan is based off of Invoice (ignoring hold back-thus some dealers go under XPlan by giving up some hold back)

Also depends on your state...some states you deduct rebates from the purchase price before determining taxes (sales taxes and registration fees) in other States rebates are considered a post purchase item thus you determine sales tax, reg fees on the sale price before rebates are applied (in this situation rebates are like an additional down payment).

There is no fuel charge--Ford requires dealers to provide you with a full tank.

Check to XPlan sticky to verify the above.

click on the car you want, then enter your zipcode for xplan pricing and promotions. With xplan and incentives, looking like around $3800 right off the top on a GT Premium..but you should be able to do better just negotiating at your dealership. I was going to go xplan route prior to my purchase on a '17, but was able to get 6k off sticker without using it.

Auto Negotiations

All right I go to FordPartner.com and I can get my X-Plan Pricing there.
So here are my calculations for when I am ready to deal.

X-Plan Website pricing

Base X-Plan Pricing + Total Options + Destination = Total X-Plan Pricing

X-Plan Pricing Total - Dealer Holdback (1-3%) + Taxes + Doc. Fees($100) + Fuel Charge - Rebates/Incentives = Out The Door Price.

Its important to know all the variables before going into any negotiation. Oh yeah and I won't mention X-Plan until I see
the best price they can give me first !
