Just installed the new Shelby Transmission Cooler Scoop.....and it WORKED!

History.
I have 2016 Tech Pack. The overheating transmission has been VERY consistent. Did 4 track days. Didn't matter if it was a cool night or a hot day event.

First session, would hit limp mode at 15 minutes
Second session, limp mode in 12/13 minutes
Third session, limp mode in 9/10 minutes
30 minute between sessions to cool.

I installed the Cooler Scoop thing and hit the track this week. 3 sessions and completed 25 minutes in each........no sign of limp mode anywhere. The car seems to outlast my concentration now. Simple bolt on design that just re-directs air from under the car up to the transmission, and also has two integrated heat shields that are supposed to block heat from the catalytic converters.

Was thinking of getting rid of the car, but now feel it is the best of both worlds. Full electronics package and no overheating issues anymore.

That's awesome news. Congrats. Keep us posted on future sessions, especially in summer. Been thinking about getting this myself.

It's just a real shame that Ford didn't step up. It'll be the last Ford I buy. Was considering new Raptor, but not after seeing them fumble this so badly.

I feel it's too soon to call the scoop a success. Once people run them on hot summer days then we'll have an idea how well it works.

I may leave mine on even after I change transmissions. Provided it fits.

Sebring last weekend was 75-80 degrees throughout the day.

Doubtful you will have success in higher ambient temp days with the scoop. I ran at MSR Houston a few weeks ago and the temps were in the 55-67 range. I hit limp at the end of my final run. 4x20 minute sessions with 1.5 hour gaps. Maybe if you don't drive hard you can make it happen in ambient temps to 75, but if you push hard you will limp. My buddy had another 350 (2017 Tech) and he never saw over 220.

If you are going to track it, you really need coolers. Still waiting for my Tranny and Cooler bits to be delivered...

I just took my Shelby scoop off. Couldn't handle the increasingly-loud rattling. Only rattled when tranny was decelerating. I still haven't tried it on track though. It'd be great if it worked. I'll put it back on if we get more positive results.

Can you place some rubber washers with the mounting hardware to try and stop it?
