I am in the planning stages of installing an OPG and CS and came accross the water pump pulley upgrade. Couldn't find much on the forums and decided to ask.

I see a lot of information on MMR's water pump pulley, but not much on Steeda's water pump pulley. I am planning on a 3 bolt standard stock size. Is one better or more personal preference?

MMR: $69.99
13.7oz (30% over stock at 1lb 9.7oz)
Made from billet alloy

Steeda: $119.95
Claims 30% lighter than stock
Made from billet

Both appears to be vented designs and made in the USA :headbang:

The Steeda unit is a great piece under the hood ... very good looking design!

Yes, our unit is manufactured in-house in Valdosta, GA with a nice finish from aerospace grade 6061 aluminum for strength and weight.

We have been at it for over 28+ years & stand behind our products 100% ... you won't be disappointed in the Steeda unit!

I have the MMR pulley. I wouldn't spend 120$ for a water pump pulley that won't even provide a measurable improvement . I bought one from MMR because I was already purchasing a damper through them and felt like wasting some money.

Is there any advantage to installing these?
Probably not any noticeable difference. I also feel like wasting a little money since I'll have the whole front open for the opg install anyways.

Is there any advantage to installing these?
Less rotating mass makes the engine more efficient, thus making more power. Is this a measurable amount? I have no idea.

I have the mmr one. It's actually lighter than stock. Not worth $120 though.

I have the MMR one bought from Terry. It is a nice pulley and definitely weights less than the factory steel pulley. I didn't notice any seat of the pants difference but every little bit helps. I figured it would also run more true than the stock steel pulley. I have heard some say the steel pulley may have some run out in it.

I’m running the mmr pulley but all 5 of my idlers on the Whipple are the Steeda design. No reason I didn’t go with the Steeda wpp; I just already had the mmr one on.

Any cooling advantages with either of these?
