There's a thread on the GT350 portion of the forum trying to figure out the best way to mount a fire extinguisher inside of an S550. I know it's required in Belgium. Any ideas out there? Pictures would be helpful.

Mine is installed on the roof of the trunk. Dealer put it there. Can't see it!

Obviously if a fire would happen, you'll never get it in time :D but legally you're golden! I'll take a picture tomorrow!

Is it really mandatory in Belgium? I'm always fascinating with how many differences are in our European _union_ ..

Yeah it is.

And luckily in the Netherlands it's not. Weight reduction bro

Besides if my car caught on fire I'd be outta there and watching it burn down at a safe distance instead of trying to put it out with a stupid undersized extinguisher while at risk of first degree burns from the gas tank exploding in my face.

And next I'd be off to Canada to order a new one

The S550 is like the first car Ive seen with the fire extinguisher hidden in spare wheel compartment. Usually its in front of the drivers seat.

I recently was told by a cop that we are supposed to keep our yellow jacket in the car as well, in case of an emergency we should be able to reach out for it and put in on in about 20 seconds.

Yellow jacket in the interior is one they love to get you for in France, particularly if driving on foreign plates.

In the trunk is not good enough!

Wonder if the yellow jacket stitching is enough inside the car. :headbonk:
