Hello one and all!

I just traded in my 2016 GT/Premium/PP for a 2016 GT350 Track Package.

Less than 100 miles on it, but when driving it easy, the shifter feels notchy as hell, just feels like it's too hard to go into gear. The car had 4 miles on it when I got it. I am figuring it has some form of breaking in to do? Hopefully!!

Anything? Just feels like I need to manhandle it when driving slow.

That's just how tight the stock shifter is. I noticed my '17 is a little firmer than my '16 was. Could just be the difference between going from 5k miles back down to near 0 though.

The Tremec box in the GT350 is not as good as the 2015+ MT-82 as far as smooth shifts go in my opinion. However, I would say that it does get better over time and I really enjoy shifting gears - just over 9,000 miles on mine now and it is working great.

mgw comes out with their shifter in less than a month. I have loved mgw in my last 3 mustangs so i plan to do the swap in the gt350 as well.

Mine was the same way at first also. Now a little over 2000 miles in it is much smoother and feels great now.

Does everyone have the problem where it doesn't always go into 1st? It feels like it's in gear but needs an extra push or else it pops out and grinds.

Yep mine does occasionnaly need a bit of pursuasion going into first gear.

As fas as smoothness goes, my MT82 is a lot easier to shift, but it does have the "thud" going from neutral to 1st which is very annoying.

I've had this happen to me 2 or 3 times. So now I ensure I really throw it into first, or put it back in neutral and back into first. Makes an awful sound, doesn't it? Every other gear feels like "one click" and 1st definitely has "two clicks"

I'll take a notchy Tremec any day over that Getrag MT-82 junk. Owned my Boss 302 for 4 days and took it in with a failed fifth gear. The complete transmission was swapped as the local subcontractor recognized it was junk and refused to rebuild it.

That happened to me once. I nearly pissed my pants. I've gotten used to it though. It definitely has a lot more lever like feel thank the MT82. MT82 feels better DD'ing. 3160 feels better when being pushed.

That's where it happened to me.... I was like, Ok, all my friends are leaving, let's go...the sea parts, people are checking all the cars out and mine goes GRIIINNNNDDDDDDDD....and everyone is now looking at the R...but not in a good way, lol... then look at me, like - this guy has never driven a manual... I've never NOT had a manual car, now that I think about it...in 32 years... Well I had a 94 Lightning but I also had another manual car at the same time, so - wash.

Same exact thing happened to me also . . .only once in 6,000 miles.
