I've emptied mine (UPR dual valve) after 3000KM driving with it. There was just a bit more in it than with @UNtamed67 in post #1 of this thread, but more solid in stead of fluid. Anybody ideas why that would be? Maybe just cause the engine was cold?
I prefer to empty it after a drive, the oil will be more fluid rather than solid sludge, cleaning the can is easier then as well.

There shouldn't be any sludge in a catch can on a new car. Especially if you are running Synthetic or semi Synthetic oil. Also what is in the catch can should be just as clean as what is in the oil pan. And the point of it is to stop oil from reaching the intake and being sucked into the combustion chamber and burned (blue smoke).

There can be alot of water in it too especially in the winter because of mostiure condensing in the oil and evaporating out when the engine is running, mine looked like coffee this last winter.

Could it be that the 2016 better handles this issue?
Or are there other people with a 2016 and catch can that still have oil in there?

A turbo charged engine from 15 or 16 won't make a difference, if you have a turbo charge engine you will have blow-by, so a catch can is the way to go...
