There were a lot of topics/threads with people trying to find out if an oil catch can is benefeciary or just a waiste of money. :)

I had my Mishimoto installed at 19K Km and am at about 21K Km today...About time to find out : "What's the catch?"

The setup :

My first catch :

I definitely prefer to have this garbage out of my engine than re-entering it !

Conclusion : worth the money ! especially in the long run...Imagine the quantity after 10x....:eyebulge:

And by the way, my smoke problem at idle seems to be gone !!!

Thx RĂ©gis for this info.
This is for me also one of the reasons to go to the second European Mustang event.
Not only to meet the people from the forum but to "steal" ideas on look of cars and to gain information on what mods are almost necessary and which ones are optional.
And above all my car will be happy to make some mileage!

Even I have catched a lot so far I'm still planning to get the dual valve system and sell my current single valve... mostly because I'm curious what difference it will make...

Btw RĂ©gis, 21K? Serious I'm only at 9k right now and I had my car a bit sooner than you if I remember well! Nice drive :D

sooo is this relevant for stock engines/cars or mostly if you start fiddling about with new coolers, pipes and stuff?

I think the options have not much to do with the usability of a catch can. (But I'm not a technician)
And as extra I got rid of the annoying EB smoke (2015 models) in idle...

Its' recommended for all turbocharged engines, so I would add it as a first mod.

poo, not really the answer I wanted :) not looking to modify much more than the visuals of my car really... mostly because it takes way too much research :D (too many options and I can never make up my mind... upr, mishimoto, single, dual, etc etc)

me again :) looks like this would be in the way of the strut tower brace?

my car don't smoke (unless it's cold, but then everything smokes) ... anyone know the deal with this PVC gutting and stuff? I was thinking of the UPR dual valve thing if I go this route but as mentioned previously... a bit confused :D

Mishimoto doesn't interfere with the strut tower bar at all.

To me there is no question, if it has a Turbo it needs a catch can, if it has Direct Injection, it needs a catch can. The ecoboost is both.

yea I'm starting to see that... that's yours on the right isn't it? (left side of the car, right in the photo :D) ... I thought the UPR (atleast?) was mounted on the other side of the engine?

Yep, I have the UPR dual valve. Can confirm it's on the other side. But it can fit just as fine on the driver's side if you'd like. You'd just have to change the lengths of the tubing I think. I think Adam explaines how that would work in his install video of the UPR catch can, cause some big turbos are too big to have the catch can on the passenger side.

I've emptied mine (UPR dual valve) after 3000KM driving with it. There was just a bit more in it than with UNtamed67 in post #1 of this thread, but more solid in stead of fluid. Anybody ideas why that would be? Maybe just cause the engine was cold?
