GT 350 1/2 shafts

Has anyone seen GT 350 and R 1/2 shaft yet to see if there same as Ford Racing

Thanks, didn't think of youtube. Not sure if 1/2 will fit base mustang now

Theyre probably very similar to the Ford Racing ones.

Wonder who will be willing try them in there non GT 350

probably nobody. With how over priced ford oem parts are, im sure the other aftermarket halfshafts are cheaper and probably better.

Wont work the video explains the hubs are different on the GT350.

The GT350 shafts are NOT the same as the FRPP shafts.

I seen that part but what is really different? Like dust shield who know?

No parts are somewhat cheap local dealer sell parts cheap than what is listed

That's also assuming the half shafts are even the same length to begin with it the can be swapped in. The 350 is a radically different car than the Mustang.

But the major point would be why? If you need them on a Mustang GT then you need them to handle high hp, which the GT350 ones aren't built for either- maybe a bit higher than the GT ones, but certainly not for forced induction applications. That's what the FRRP ones and other brands are for- big hp applications. The only reason to replace halfshafts to begin with is to prevent or because they snap due to high power applications.

People underestimate how many parts are different in the Shelby. In prior years the specialty cars had many many more similar parts to a regualr Mustang to swap in and out.

Not to mention that the GT350's 1/2 shaft is larger in diameter so it wouldn't fit the standard GT Differetial.

That too very likely.

I think people are holding onto the previous gen cars where you could put Shelby, Roush and Boss parts in any S197 car and boom they work and fit. There were no real structural differences between the cars all the way from the V6 to the GT500.

The GT350 simply wont work that way anymore. I would bet it has a very very high % of unique parts.

OK, right now we're guessing. Far as I have gotten inner and outer ends same spline. Rear track width didn't change far as I know but front did. Someone will have to buy them and see. No reason to turn this into hugh debate it was just simple question.

There has been lots of traffic on the various threads about "Shelbyizing" a GT. Not likely going to be economically feasible people.

Not trying to turn car into Shelby. Using some of it's parts why not.
