Yes I have Sync2, perfectly happy with it... wished the screen was a bit more responsive - but the voice commands work just fine so I don't need it too much... my point was more along the lines that I've kind of lost "hope" for carplay/android auto :D

(Funny side not to my above story, Siri has NO issue starting music and I presume using Apple Music which is a competing product to Spotify ;))

What's certain is that the first 2018 EU cars will not be here before October 2017 and that is already assuming they will commence production of the 2018 EU spec directly in June.

It would be a safe bet to not expect them here before end of 2017.

Personally though I would not buy an EU version again and get a US import version. It saves you all the hassle with the stupid lights plus you can get seat memory and adaptive cruise control.
I'm courious about you would rather have the US import. I notice there are a few of us here in Europe that would rather have the US import. I'm not knocking you however, I think there are some advantages in the EU export model. Yes, I would like to have the seat memory, psi boost guage, and definitely the sequental turn signals. On the other hand, it is my understanding and personal experience, the EU model is more sturdy, all EU cars have stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, bigger radiator and 19 inch tires. It has also been mentioned by others and I can speak from personal experience , it seem QC for EU models is better than on import
(stateside) Mustangs. Yes, I'm not thrilled about the dumbo outside mirrors. The clear glass tail lights have grown on me since I got my Mustang. I would much rather have a solid, well built Mustang than take a chance on having a Mustang that has issues that has not really important bells and whistles that we don't get here in EU. :amen:

That is actually nothing more than the Performance Package which is available as a 2000 dollar option on the US version as well. Personally I would get a US version without that package though, because the PP suspension is actually very poorly tuned and needs to be replaced anyway. Same goes for the 19" PP wheels, they are ugly, too small, have crappy tires and the wrong offset so they will get replaced as well. That leaves 2000 dollars to spend on a set of bigger brakes and a radiator.

Well I don't think that's true. I have driven two S550 rentals in the US now and both had better fit and finish than my EU car. Examples of horrible panel fitting can be found all over Europe. They all come from the same line and are assembled by the same people and there is really no difference whatsoever in how US and EU cars are buit. Fit and finish are simply luck of the draw with any US car.

We don't have anything more\better than US version. Ford has of course increased his earning with the "export" operation, but with the minimal effort needed. They have only modified what was needed for regulations compliant, and actually this is not bad, since most of us wants the real thing.
Unfortunately the mods they did impact a lot on design, like the disabled tribar and the jumbo mirrors. About the rear lights ok someone likes that.. but it's still different than what the original american model has.

Going back, I would for sure wait a bit longer and get an used US ecoboost full optional, at half the price I paid.
Oh well, you will never stop learn something :)

We'll I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. You can be happy with your import U.S. stang and I'm happy with my EU version. Both versions are great cars.

I'm with Eric. Not an EU version anymore! We've got _less_ for _more_. Warranty?? My dealer is a scumbag, he don't know anything, he won't get me any assistance, Ford Italy\Europe don't know anything about this car, every replacement part need to come directly from US and only when you need it (so months of waiting).

Getting a like-new US model we could have a fully loaded car with all options for less than we paid here, included import costs. And if you consider what we paid for modding our cars to appear like the US original, the difference is even more noticeable.

No, mirrors are not the reason because the version sold in UAE\Dubai has BLIS with our dumboJumbo mirrors! Also, sensors are not in mirrors but in the rear sides.
They probably won't make many different version for Europe so I can imagine that for 2018 would not be different.
What are you talking about man? With the currently €-$ exchange plus taxes, the car would be significally more expensive.

Despite the rates exchange, 1 year after the S550 was released in US there were used fully loaded ecoboost for nearly 20k USD..
Oh and 1 year after the US release was the time when we received our EU cars.

You will also save significant money on modifications to correct the export features back to US spec.

As the 2015 EU model was a brand new model, it had to be pushed back one year after the US production time for all the tests. Now that they know what to make and what to remove (:paddle:) to have it EU compliant, my guess is that we will see the first EU version of the '18 at the end of the year here in the EU.

If you want a 2018 fast now more than ever is the time to get one from the US and not wait for the official EU cars to arrive.

In the past the gauges in MPH were a pain in the ass but that obstacle is now done and dusted with the new digital dash cluster.

Also navigation was expensive to convert because you need a specialist to reprogram the Sync firmware, but now Sync 3 with Android Auto enables you to run Google Maps for free. Which is even better than the always outdated factory nav.

If the money don't matter...Ok. But for example in Spain you would have to pay 21% VAT + 14% tax registration + transport + homologation
