Since we know now the 18 gt350 is not getting a makeover Im going to say it is safe to assume these pictures and video are NOT it. So probably a early gt500 or maybe mach1 prototype?
It was probably and exercise of seeing how a CPC worked in the 350 platform since we just got two race versions harboring that very platform.

I like what I am hearing from thePill. I think he has it right about GT350 production plans. It all seams logical.

Yea I suppose that is possibly a CPC 350S prototype (minus all the non street legal bits).

The CPC 5.2 (or 5.4) is the base engine the GT500 will use. It will not be an honest Parallel Twin Turbo, it will resemble the PowerStrokes configuration as I said before.

The GT350's Voodoo is slated to remain in production until Calander Year 2019. Unless a new contract was made, the one signed in November 2015 is good for 4 years.

The Trucks will also make use of this new and improved Coyote/Voodoo hybrid. Testing on the 5.2 CPC looks ready for Janruary.

Is a 2017.5 still possible? Yes... but like the GT350, we will see very little of them.
Can you be more specific on BOLD part

you mean GT500 5.2 CPC Hybrid, and GT350 5.2 FPC Voodoo Hybrid?

I assumed he meant a hybrid of the best bits of Coyote and Voodoo in one 5.2 CPC V8.......can you confirm that, Pill?

I'm still holding out hope for a N/A version AND a FI version.

In N/A, this would be, effectively, a production version of the Aluminator XS which Ford have been displaying at various shows.....plus the GT4 and FP350S use a version of this (it IS a CPC version and NOT FPC as has been reported by most news outlets).

I wouldn't say "confirmed" because I don't deal with confirmations but yeah, a Coyote/Voodoo hybrid. It will use a less expensive version of the Voodoo heads, may not use PTWA (hard bore) and be the "new" displacement engine outlined in the UAW contract.

... I'm betting the 5.2 uses PTWA and is reserved for Ford Performance Trucks. While the new 4.8 is a non-PTWA Coyote.

4.8 for the masses, the 5.2 CPC reserved for the Lightning, Super Bronco, Super Raptor and GT500.

Not much on the GT350 will change. Just as the GT350 was a look at the 2015-'17 GT prior to the changes in 2018, the 500 will echo the S650 changes.

I am assuming the 2018 GT will begin to adopt more GT350 exterior and structural changes, could include some lightweighting but only to offset new equipment. The GT500 will begin to showcase S650 changes and, it appears a 2017.5 is still the intention.

Regardless, the GT350 and "a" flat plane crank V8 will continue until MY2020. Expect the Voodoo to aquire some changes, as the contract states.

5.0 stays...5.2 and 4.8 for other Fords (i.e. Expedition, F150, etc) all apparently based on Coyote architecture

5.0 stays for Mustang and F-150 only. 5.2 for special variant Mustangs only. 4.8 is dead.

I don't see ford using new engines for the GT500. It would ruin reliability, durability. The 5.2 has been around a brief period. Far to short to stuff in the GT500. I think it will be the old 5.8 Trinity with a big 2.9L blower. It will be a little while longer before more info is available. This I can say for sure: Ford is waiting for Dodge to finalize the SRT Demon's hp level. Once that is known, the SVT GT500 will top it in power, but not by much. Possibly 25-30 hp. The GT350R's body is what is being used, with the front end and Engibe a secret, hence why the rest of the car is not camo'd. That big hood bulge tells me a big blower is sitting on top. Though it is likely not belted yet. Oddly, the Oem Eaton on the 2013-14 GT500 was fairly quiet in operation. You almost could not hear it. There is a chance it'll be a beefed up 5.0 with the big blower on it. As the new 5.0 is capable of over 900 crank hp, supposedly.
