Likely because sandwiching the ground wire between a non conductive painted surface on the car and a non conductive black anodized finish on the catch can does not make for a found ground connection.

I noticed if you empty the can after a good drive it won't look like Baileys!

I'm actually gonna use that one if I ever have to go to court to explain why I was driving so fast: "sorry judge, I was prepping the cleaning if my catch can"

Doesn't need to be fast, just need to be up temperature.

With me very strange ... got a EB 2016 and never white smoke until after the installation of the catch can ...

PJ that is possible but the car is still standing in a closed garage like before and while temperature is lower than in summer it is still above 15C.

this smoking shit scared the crap out of me... I got to be honest, mine smokes a lot... but I didn't really notice until it became dark (which coincidentally is about the same time it starts to get cold and wet up here...)
